At Watmore & Co. Accounting Ltd, we’re passionate about creating a more inclusive accounting industry. We’ve been at the forefront of championing neurodiversity and advocating for accessibility.
We’ve actively provided feedback to accounting software providers to improve their products. Recently, we led a workshop for over 100 bookkeepers at the ICB Inspire Tour, teaching them how to support and understand neurodivergent clients, which resulted in wonderful feedback including a light bulb moment for a fellow bookkeeper.
Want to join us in making a difference? Partner with us for workshops, podcasts, or consulting services. Together, we can promote diversity and create a more inclusive accounting industry.
We understand it can be difficult to find accountability when working for yourself.
That's why, if you want to do the bookkeeping but you need extra accountability, we can provide that accountability in the form of booked regular meetings to go through your accounts.
Part of being Neurodivergent sometimes means you spend more time doing the things you want to do, rather than doing the things you need to do. This can cause cashflow issues, tax issues and if you're trying to find some, investment issues too!
Another way for providing accountability is to do what's called body doubling. Body doubling is when you perform a task along side someone else. This is also very helpful for neurodivergent people to gain motivation by accountability.
It doesn't have to be the same task, the other person just has to be there.
We would do this over a video call in weekly or monthly sessions depending on how much bookkeeping you need to get done.
Reading documentation from HMRC, Banks, or professionals such as Accountants can be difficult when you're visually impaired. This can be especially true when the provider of documentation doesn't make it accessible by providing large print or braille.
We provide dictated documentation where it is requested to provide the information in a more accessible way.
It can also be helpful if you have a hard time reading because of dyslexia, ADHD or any other neurodivergence which makes reading difficult.
Being neurodivergent can mean social interaction causes you mental or even physical pain.
Neurodivergence such as ADHD or Autism (ASD) can make social interactions difficult and it is for this reason we can have a nominated person act for you after the initial call for all our communications.
Growing faster than you can keep up with?
Feel like you're just about treading water?
Give us a shout to see if we can help take some of the load off your hands whilst still providing the service your clients have come to love and expect.
Soon there will a Neuro-Inclusive Directory of UK business here for you to use.
These businesses will align with your values and needs.
Any clients of Watmore and Co are automatically welcome to a space on the directory once it is live.
