About

Here at Watmore and Co, our first hand experience and understanding of neurodiversity enables us to tailor our support and communication to the needs of our clients.

Mission Statement

To support neurodivergent, disabled or judged business owners with their finances so that they can flourish.

Our Values

Asking and accommodating

Everyone is unique, so we adjust our service to fit you. During our first conversation, we will ask about your accessibility needs and discuss how we can help. For example:

  • Accountability check-ins
  • Body doubling sessions.
  • Creating personalised accessible guides
  • Dictating documents and emails
  • Advising about tools and strategies, with demos (business themed).

We get that needs change. To accommodate this, we keep communication open about needs, so that you can update us whenever needed.

Commitment to being jargon free

Accounting and finance are packed with jargon. This can be tricky even for those who have studied it.

We use simple language whenever possible. It’s not about dumbing things down. It’s about making them accessible.

When we cannot avoid it, we will take the time to ensure you understand what it means. Explaining things more than once and in different ways if you need it.

Holding no judgment

We pride ourselves on providing a safe space (sometimes called a brave space) for our clients. This is particularly important at the beginning, as many come to us after becoming overwhelmed.

Messy books can occur from confusing or contradictory advice. Other times it can be the result of unsupported neurodiversity needs. Such as ADHD, which is often linked to financial difficulties. We regularly help clients with accounts that have been avoided for months or years, and know how daunting that can be. We have personal experience of these situations and will never make you feel like you “should have” known something.

There is no such thing as a stupid question and no shame in asking. Finance, accounts and numbers are our passions. They do not need to be yours too.

Speaking your language

Communication isn’t a one-size-fits-all. We take the time to understand your communication style and needs, providing a neuro-affirming space. We can tailor our checklists to match your needs whether you need Ant or Elephant tasks. Here are examples of adjustments we can make:

  • Slowing down during meetings. Taking breaks when needed.
  • Respecting and matching your identity language (incl. pronouns).
  • Offering more time to action things and make decisions.
  • Providing instructions and checklists in Ant or Elephant form.
  • Staying connected in the way that works best for you.

In 2025, we are undertaking BSL training to expand our solutions.

Always learning and improving

We are constantly seeking to improve. This is why we love getting feedback from our clients. The good and the bad! The good tells us when we are on the right track. While the bad tells us where we need to improve. We believe nothing compares to your lived experiences. So, we want to know when something is or isn’t working for you.

We also look for opportunities to expand our knowledge. In 2024 Rebecca became an ADHD Champion with training from ADHD Works. At the same time, she completed Bold Type with Ettie Bailey-King to learn more about accessible language. She is now studying how different neurotypes affect running a business.
